Police responding to “suicidal person in the guideway” at Metrotown SkyTrain Station

UPDATE: The police incident at Metrotown Station has been safely resolved.

Transit Police and Burnaby RCMP are currently on scene at Metrotown SkyTrain Station responding to a “suicidal person in the guideway”.

“The station is currently closed as well as the street below (Central Blvd)”

“Due to the position of the individual, Patterson Station is also closed. SkyTrain is currently conducting “turn-back” service as Joyce Station,” said Cst. Amanda Steed to Anywhere Vancouver.

The incident began around 11am and TransLink tweeted out that the Expo Line is experiencing eastbound/westbound delays.

Burnaby RCMP and Metro Vancouver Transit Police officers are responding to the situation.

“Everyone is working hard to resolve the situation quickly and safely. Thank you for your patience.”

Expo Line service between Joyce-Collingwood Station and Edmonds Station remains suspended as of 12:30pm. A bus bridge is in place between Joyce and Edmonds Station.
