A fatal pedestrian motor vehicle collision Tuesday afternoon in Surrey has left one person dead.
At approximately 4pm, Surrey RCMP responded to a report of a pedestrian motor vehicle collision along Highway 17.
“A Ford pickup was west bound on Highway 17, when a pedestrian attempted to cross the highway, north bound, between intersections,” says Sgt. Tyner Gillies.
“The vehicle struck the pedestrian causing catastrophic injury.”

The victim, believed to be in his 30’s, was transported to a local area hospital in critical condition. Unfortunately, the man succumbed to his injuries in hospital.
“The driver of the pickup remained on scene and is cooperating with police,” say police.
Alcohol and speed do not appear to be factors in the collision as of right now.
