There was a heavy police presence in South Vancouver Friday evening after a fatal shooting occurred along a busy street.
Police were called to East 63rd Avenue and Inverness Street just before 9pm last night for reports of two men shot in a vehicle, which then collided with two other vehicles.
One man was taken to hospital to receive treatment for non-life-threatening injuries. The second man, 25-year-old Hitkaran Johal, died at the scene of the collision.

Shortly after, a vehicle was set on fire near East 63rd Avenue and Prince Edward Street. Investigators are working to determine if its connected to the shooting.

“Investigators believe this shooting was targeted and there is no ongoing public safety risk at this time,” said Cst. Tania Visintin in a release. No arrests have been made at this time.
