More post-secondary schools have announced closures Wednesday morning as snow blankets Metro Vancouver.
On Tuesday morning, Environment Canada issued a snowfall warning for Metro Vancouver. The weather agency says that anywhere from 10 to 20 cm of snow is in store for different parts of the region.
Snow started to fall in many areas late last night and continues to accumulate this morning.
Post-secondary school closures
- UBC – All in-person classes are cancelled; classes may move online
- BCIT – All in-person classes are cancelled at all campuses
- SFU – All in-person classes are cancelled; all online classes will proceed as scheduled
- KPU: All in-person classes are cancelled
- Langara: All in-person classes are cancelled; online classes will continue remotely
- VCC: All in-person classes are cancelled; online classes and college operations will continue remotely if possible
- Douglas College: All in-person and online classes, activities and events are cancelled
- JIBC: In-person classes at JIBC’s New West, Maple Ridge, Chilliwack, and Pitt Meadows campuses are cancelled
- Emily Carr: In-person classes are cancelled and the campus is closed
- UFV: All UFV campuses are closed and in-person classes are cancelled
- Capilano: All Capilano University campuses are closed
- Sprott Shaw: Metro Vancouver campuses are closed. Classes will be held online today at their scheduled time.
