Summer will remain on hold this weekend as a rainfall warning has been issued for Metro Vancouver.
Environment Canada says the region could close to 50 mm of rain starting tonight.
“A low pressure system off the Oregon Coast will move inland today and track across southern BC tonight. Rain, at times heavy will begin this evening and taper to showers on Saturday,” says the weather agency.
The City of Vancouver,Burnaby, and New Westminster will get drenched the most. The Fraser Valley and the Howe Sound will also be affected by the storm.
Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.
It may be August, but it sure feels like fall already.
