Swifties heading to the big concert tonight at BC Place are about to experience what Vancouver weather really is like.
Environment Canada issued a rainfall warning Friday morning, warning the region could see up to 70 mm of rain starting tonight.
The weather warning is in effect for Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster, Coquitlam, and areas of the Fraser Valley, including Abbotsford and Mission.
“A robust and rain laden frontal system will slide down the BC Coast today. Rain, at times heavy, will begin late this afternoon for Howe Sound and the Sea to Sky, and this evening for the remainder of the regions,” says the weather agency.
The heaviest rain will ease later Saturday morning as the frontal system passes through.
Environment Canada is warning people to watch out for water pooling on roads, and localized flooding.
If you are planning to head into the downtown core tonight, heavy delays are expected due to several road closures near BC Place.
