It’s the end of an era for one of Metro Vancouver’s most iconic night markets.
After “26 remarkable years,” the Richmond Night Market announced today that the 2026 summer season will be its last before permanently closing.
“As the owner, I have had the privilege of organizing and operating the Richmond Night Market for the past 26 years,” said Raymond Cheung, Founder of the Richmond Night Market.
“It has been one of the most rewarding and enjoyable journeys of my life. Watching a single local event grow into one of Canada’s best-known summer attractions has been an incredible honour.”

Richmond Night Market
Over the past 26 years, the Richmond Night Market has become known across Canada and around the world for its diverse food offerings, unique vendors, and lively entertainment.
The decision was made as the market’s lease is coming to an end.
“Although it is heartbreaking to say goodbye, I am filled with gratitude rather than regret,” Cheung said. “The memories we have created together over the past 26 years will continue to live on in the hearts of our visitors, vendors, performers, and everyone who has been part of this amazing journey.”

Despite the sad news, organizers say there’s still time to experience the Richmond Night Market, with six weeks remaining in its final season.
“We would like to express our deepest gratitude to the public for your unwavering support over the past 26 years. Your enthusiasm, loyalty, and love for the Richmond Night Market made this event what it is today.”
Its final day of operation is Sunday, September 20th, 2026.
