A video posted on social media shows rapper Rick Ross and his crew being assaulted at a Vancouver music festival late Sunday evening.
The incident broke out at the inaugural Ignite Music Festival at the Plaza of Nations. According to TMZ, the brawl started 10:30pm when Rick Ross stepped offstage into a “crowded area”.
TMZ says “about 15 dudes approached Rick” and formed a “human wall” around him and his crew. Footage of the incident appears to show someone attempting to punch Rick Ross before a larger brawl erupted between the two groups.
A video of the assault between two separate groups was posted on X by The Dirty News.
“The BC demons viciously violated #RickRoss after he decided to play #KendrickLamars hit record,” reads the tweet.
“He won’t be returning to do any shows out west anymore…”

It appears the fight started after another group took issue with Rick Ross finishing his set with Kendrick Lamar’s Not Like Us track. The music festival that the violence broke out at was headlined by Rick Ross himself and Waka Flocka Flame.
“Initially we did not get any reports to police about this,” said Cst. Tania Visintin in an email.
“We have now been made aware of the video circulating on social media and are looking into the matter.”
