Vancouver Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet has been named a finalist for the Jack Adams Award.

This prestigious accolade is bestowed annually upon the NHL’s top head coach, which is determined by members of the NHL Broadcasters’ Association.

Rick Bowness from the Winnipeg Jets and Andrew Brunette from the Nashville Predators are the other two finalists for the award.

Tocchet’s remarkable coaching propelled the Canucks to clinch the top spot in the Pacific Division, boasting an impressive 50-23-9 record.

During an interview conducted by Sportnet’s Elliotte Friedman and Jeff Marek in February, Rick Bowness shared his thoughts on Rick Tocchet’s coaching tenure with the Vancouver Canucks, stating, “I love what he’s done going in there ever since he took over, you see more structure, you see more compete, and you see them play more as a team.”

Under Tocchet’s guidance, the Canucks have flourished, resulting in their most successful season in over a decade.

Rick Tocchet was asked about being named a finalist for the Jack Adams Award earlier today ahead of game 6.

“I think it’s an organizational trophy, you’re a piece of the puzzle. I have a huge support group that helps me, and I’m just focused on game 6 tonight,” said Tocchet.

Game 6 takes place at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville today at 4pm PST.
