Ryan Reynolds is returning to his beloved hometown this summer.
Wrexham AFC co-chairmen Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds announced their team will be taking on the Vancouver Whitecaps at BC Place On July 27th, 2024.
“Last year Rob got to bring Wrexham to Philly. This year it’s my turn,” said Reynolds in a release. “I am so excited my hometown club the Whitecaps will get to square off against the Red Dragons.
Now who will he be cheering for?
“My official stance on the match will be a very friendly ‘neutral’ even if I will be screaming for a Paul Mullin hat-trick,” added Reynolds.

Reynolds and fellow actor Rob McElhenney purchased the team back in 2020. Wrexham AFC is the third oldest professional football club in the world and the celebrity duo has helped them climb the English football ranks. They currently play in Football League Two and will join Football League One next year.
Vancouver Mayor Ken Sim shared his excitement about the match.

Before playing in Vancouver, Wrexham will play in two other friendly matches. They take on AFC Bournemouth on July 20th at Harder Stadium in Santa Barbara, California and Chelsea FC on July 24th at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California.
