The search for a missing kayaker last seen in West Vancouver on November 19 continues, and police have now released more information to help with the investigation.
Dzmitry (Dima) Aliaksandrau, a 36-year-old man from Maple Ridge, left Batchelor Bay in West Vancouver in a white collapsible kayak shortly after 12pm on November 19th.
Video footage captured by a witness near the 6200 block of St. George’s Crescent shows him heading southbound near Bird Islet around 12:45pm.
“In the background of the video is the BC Ferries vessel that was scheduled to leave Departure Bay in Nanaimo at 10:40 a.m. and arrived at Horseshoe Bay at approximately 12:45 p.m,” said the West Vancouver Police Department in a release.
Dima is 5’ 10” tall, weighs 170 lbs, and has dark brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black rain jacket, black track pants, and black flip-flops.
