A Langley senior is in critical condition after being the victim of an assault on Canada Day.
Langley RCMP received reports of a man in distress near Park Avenue and Douglas Crescent in Langley shortly before 10pm. First responders located a 75-year-old Langley resident suffering from serious injuries.
The male victim was transported to a local hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
“Investigators have reviewed video surveillance from the area and believe victim’s injuries may be the result of an assault,” said Cst. Peter Mann of the Langley RCMP.
“Officers believe there were additional people in the area who may have witnessed the incident, and we are asking those individuals to come forward and speak with investigators.”
Anyone with information or dash cam footage from the surrounding area between 9:30pm and 10:15pm are asked to contact police.
