A suspect is in custody following a random stranger attack in downtown Vancouver last week.
The victim, a 70-year-old senior, was walking near Homer and West Pender Street around 3pm on May 16th when a stranger approached him. The victim was knocked him to the ground, causing the senior to strike his head.
“The suspect walked away without offering assistance to the injured victim, who required treatment in hospital,” said VPD in a release.
Police arrested a suspect later that day on Granville Street. Derrick James McFeeters, 40, has been charged with one count of assault causing bodily harm.
He remains in custody pending a bail hearing.
