A car fire at the SFU Burnaby campus has sent thick black smoke throughout the campus.
The university shared on Twitter that Burnaby Fire responded to a “vehicle fire on the 2000 Level of Central Parkade”.
“The fire is now out but crews remain on scene and the parkade will be closed until the situation has been resolved. Please avoid the area until further notice and follow the directions of Campus Public Safety.”

Footage shared on social media shows the car on fire and another video shows smoke billowing into the sky near the university’s library.
Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported by crews.
