One of Metro Vancouver’s premier casinos is holding week-long celebrations featuring draws, poker tournaments, and much more!
Last year, Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Limited opened a brand new poker room at Starlight Casino in New Westminster, and they are now celebrating its 1-year anniversary in style!
The celebration kicks off on Thursday, October 24th with the 2nd annual Mayor’s Charity Poker Night.
Local leaders and changemakers will sit down to play in support of their charity of choice. Patrick Johnstone, Mayor of New Westminster, Matt Jarvis, former professional poker player, Stefan Flintoft, BC Lions punter, and Steve Deakin, Canada’s number one ranked pickleball player will join other athletes, entertainers and government officials for an unforgettable night!
Casino guests are invited to come and watch the action beginning at 6:30pm.

Poker has grown tremendously here, thanks to our daily tournaments, the monthly B1G $1k (our biggest buy-in in the province), daily cash games, and our partnership with ‘Greg Goes All In’. On October 25th, poker room players can enjoy free buffet style appies to help keep you fuelled without missing any of the action!
To help kick off the weekend, Hourly Hot Seat Draws will be held from 9am to 8pm on October 26th. Casino and Match gift cards, plus football jerseys will be up for grabs!
October 27 is $10 “Bomb Pot” day and exciting poker tournaments with no admin fees will be held from October 28 to 30.
The celebrations are capped off on Halloween, October 31, with the return of hourly $100 High Hand from 11am to 11pm.

Starlight’s new poker room has seven tables, six flat-screen televisions and has its own exclusive menu with a daily breakfast special. It’s also the only casino in BC to offer $2-3 No Limit Texas Hold ‘Em, $4-8 Limit Texas Hold ‘Em, and single blind $5 Pot Limit Omaha.
