A driver and a passenger are in custody after they attempted to flee from police inside a stolen vehicle in downtown Vancouver Sunday afternoon.
In a social media post, the VPD say officers attempted to stop a stolen Porsche Cayenne around 1:40pm near Burrard and Alberni Streets.

The two suspects crashed into “multiple police and parked cars” while trying to escape from police. Shortly after, the driver was spotted in the Downtown Eastside.

“The 32-year-old driver and a passenger were taken into custody minutes later, near Main and Union Street, with assistance from a VPD canine officer,” said the VPD on X. “A beanbag shotgun was used during the arrest.”
A video posted on Glowbal Group’s Instagram page shows that the patio furniture outside Black+Blue’s was damaged during the high-speed chase.

“Black+Blue is known for high end steaks, not high-speed chases,” reads their post.
