Richmond RCMP are searching for a suspect in an unprovoked stranger attack where a victim was punched in the face.
Richmond RCMP’s Bike Unit responded to the 6500 block of No 3 Road near CF Richmond Centre shortly after noon on July 2nd for an alleged stranger assault. The victim was walking in the area when he was allegedly “punched in the face by an unknown man”.
The victim was treated at scene for minor physical injuries.
Investigators determined the suspect entered the mall around 11:20am and exited around 11:57am. The suspect was last seen walking Northbound along No. 3 Road towards Westminster Highway.

“This is a busy time of day in the downtown core of Richmond so we believe there are people out there who witnessed this assault or the events leading up to it. We are appealing to anyone who was in the area to contact us,” says Cpl. Adriana O’Malley, Richmond RCMP Media Relations Officer.
The suspect is described as:
- Black male
- 5’9
- Heavy build
He was wearing a grey long sleeve top, black pants, white and blue Jordan 11 runners, and a white backpack.
