A brunch spot in Surrey known for its “premium brunch” offerings has closed down after five years in business.
Ruex Cafe and Bar had its last day of operation on Friday, July 31st.
“After five incredible years, the time has come to say goodbye. We’ve made the bittersweet decision to close this chapter of Ruex,” wrote the restaurant on social media.

“What started as a dream became so much more than a cafe. It became a place filled with friendships, celebrations, laughter, and countless memories. None of it would have been possible without the unwavering support of our community.”

Located in the hear of Surrey on Fraser Highway, Ruex offered a unique Australian brunch experience with dishes like vegimite toast, truffled mushroom frittata, and the Oy Oy Oy Bowl.
“Thank you so much to every guest who has walked through our doors, every partner who has worked with us and to everyone who has supported us the past 5 years,” added the restaurant.
Many took to the comments to share fond memories of the restaurant.
“So sorry to see you go! One of my fav lunch spots. Amazing food and service,” said one online user.
“You were one of the first pieces at the Hub and it won’t be the same without you,” added another person.
