One person was transported to hospital with serious injuries Friday afternoon after a plane crashed and started a fire in Surrey.
On June 2nd, 2023, at approximately 1:30pm, Surrey RCMP was advised of a plane that caught fire in an Ultra-Light aviation field located in the 6900-block of 152 Street.

“Police are currently on scene and the circumstances that lead to the fire are unclear at this time,” says Cst. Vanessa Munn.
“The fire spread to the surrounding grass area and firefighters are actively working to extinguish it.”
152 Street between 72 Avenue and 68 Avenue has been closed in both directions to all traffic. Police are asking people to avoid the area.
It is unclear at this moment how long the closures will remain in effect.
