Surrey shooting sends man to hospital with “apparent gun shot wounds”

A Surrey shooting sent a man to hospital with “apparent gun shot wounds” Friday morning.

Surrey RCMP responded to the report of a shooting in a residential driveway located in the 8100-block of 144A Street shortly after 8am.

“Police attended and located an adult male suffering from apparent gun shot wounds and provided medical assistance until Emergency Health Services arrived on scene,” said Cpl. Vanessa Munn in a news release

“The man was transported to hospital with serious injuries.”

Around 8:34am, Surrey RCMP were notified of a vehicle fire at 125A Street and Colebrook Road.

“The vehicle located on fire is similar in description to the suspect vehicle seen fleeing the area of the shooting, however further investigation is required to link the two incidents.”

The investigation is ongoing, but police say it appears this was a targeted incident. However, the motive is still unknown at this moment.
