Burnaby RCMP have released a sketch of a suspect they’re looking to identify who sexually assaulted a woman at a local park two months ago.
The victim told police last month she had been “grabbed from behind then sexually assaulted while walking in the park, which is bordered by 18 Avenue, 17 Avenue, Leeside Street and Griffiths Drive” on November 17th, 2024 around 12:30am.
Police have since canvassed the area thoroughly, and earlier this month, police obtained a detailed suspect description.
“While our investigators are following leads as they work to identify the suspect, we want the public to be aware of this incident, take look at the sketch, and report any suspicious activity to police,” said Cpl. Laura Hirst with the Burnaby RCMP.
The suspect is described as:
- White male in his 30s
- Slim build
- Long, very blonde, messy hair
- Blonde beard with a notable patch of missing hair on his right cheek
- Large, prominent ears
- Crooked yellow teeth
It is believed the man was wearing a red jacket and beige track pants at the time of the assault.
