A video posted on social media shows the moment a taxi collided with a TransLink bus in downtown Vancouver earlier this spring.
The crash occurred at the intersection of Howe Street and Davie Street. As the bus was turning left onto Howe Street, the traffic light turned green and a white taxi quickly sped through the intersection before colliding with the right side of the bus. Before entering the intersection, the taxi was in the far left lane and it appears it might have been trying to get past the bus on the right side.
The taxi hit the middle accordion section of the bus before knocking over a street sign.

TransLink confirmed the incident occurred on May 16th just before 5pm. There were no injuries reported, but the back of the bus sustained damages.
“Holy, what reckless behaviour. That pedestrian is extremely lucky,” commented one user.
“I hope this driver gets his license revoked. This is pure recklessness. If they have a passenger? That’s even more f*cking crazy,” chimed in another user.
The taxi involved in accident belonged to Surrey Metro Taxi.
