It’s going to be a hot and hazy couple of days in Vancouver.

On Monday, the Metro Vancouver Regional District issued an air quality warning for the Eastern Fraser Valley. Elevated levels of fine particulate matter from wildfires burning across the province prompted the advisory.

“Smoke levels can change quickly with weather and fire behaviour,” reads the advisory.

Temperatures in Vancouver will soar today and tomorrow before cooling off ahead of the weekend.

Temperatures will hit 27°C near the coast and 33°C further inland today. With the humidity, temperatures will feel as high as 39°C in some areas today and tomorrow.

Temperatures are expected to cool down considerably by Thursday and there’s even a 30% chance of showers in the forecast. Friday is shaping up to be another sunny day before showers become possible again over the weekend.
