46-year-old woman “critically injured” after Tesla crashed into Richmond restaurant

Richmond RCMP have provided an update after a Tesla crashed into a local fast food restaurant last week.

Police say a 46-year old woman from Burnaby, who was inside of the business prior to the collision, was “critically injured at the scene”. Her condition since the accident has continued to improve.

A dark-coloured Tesla displaying an ‘N” sign crashed into the Chung Chun Rice Hotdog fast food restaurant just before 11:30am, located at the intersection of Westminster Highway and No. 3 Road.

Investigators have determined that “neither alcohol or drugs are considered factors in this collision”. The driver of the Tesla, a 20-year old from Richmond, was uninjured.

The Richmond RCMP CCIT (Criminal Collision Investigation Team) has taken conduct of this investigation.
