Three bodies were recovered from Garibaldi Provincial Park Monday, where three mountaineers went missing over a month ago.
The names of the deceased have not been released at this time.
“Members of Squamish Search and Rescue worked with the RCMP this morning to recover the bodies of three individuals in the Atwell Peak area. The task has been turned over to the RCMP and the Coroner Service,” said BJ Chute, Manager Squamish Search and Rescue.
Three mountaineers were reported missing on May 31st, 2024 and were last seen in the Atwell Peak area. This is the same area crews found the three bodies.
Police are in touch with the families, who are requesting privacy during this difficult time.
