A truck driver in Richmond has been fined over $530 for unsafely transporting large trees.
A Richmond RCMP Road Safety Unit (RSU) officer was conducting routine patrols on Highway 91 on April 27th when he came across a commercial vehicle with large trees loaded on the flatdeck.
The officer pulled over the driver because the load “did not appear to be secured”.
The driver was fined $535 for the following violations:
- Driver Operates Commercial or Business Vehicle without Proper Equipment or with Insecure Cargo – $288
- Load or Projection over 1.2 m in rear without red flag or cloth – $109
- Fail to Comply with Trip Inspection Requirements – $138
Points under the National Safety Code were also attached to the company.
