Two people are dead after a small plane crashed in Merritt over the weekend.
Police responded to a report of a plane that crashed two kilometres north of the Merritt Airport around 7pm Sunday evening.
“Upon arrival, emergency crews located the crash site, where they identified both the pilot and passenger deceased,” said police in a release.
The plane that crashed was a “homebuilt amphibious aircraft”.
The Merritt RCMP is now working with the Transportation Safety Board and BC Coroners Service to determine what caused the accident.
