Think it’s hot right now? Think again. Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for Vancouver ahead of the Mother’s Day weekend.
“The South Coast and inland areas of the north and central BC coast will experience unseasonably hot weather beginning on Friday,” says Environment Canada
“The highest temperatures are expected on Sunday and Monday.”

Environment Canada says daytime highs will be 10 to 15 degrees Celsius above seasonal values while overnight lows will be 5 to 10 degrees above what is “normally experienced this time of year”.
While it’s supposed to be unseasonably warm, officials point out that the expected hot conditions will not approach those reached during the “Heat Dome” of late June 2021.
There will be no “Heat Dome” this time around, but temperatures here across Vancouver will be hotter than Los Angeles.
Don’t forget to pack lots of sunscreen before heading to the beach.
