Vancouver Firefighter Charities (VFC) has announced they’ve partnered up with Parq Vancouver to offer financial support for those considering a career in firefighting.
Together with the Downtown Vancouver entertainment destination, they are launching the Parq Vancouver Casino Firefighter Bursary this spring.
Beginning this April and continuing every year, Parq will provide the financial support for VFC to award an applicant who exemplifies the high standards and commitment required to be a firefighter with the funds necessary to complete their journey.

“This a unique way to spotlight the ‘for Vancouver’ movement and we’re so grateful to the whole team at Parq Vancouver for continuing their commitment to support the community at large through this bursary,” says VFC Director for Mission Funding Brandon Davies.
This isn’t the first time Parq has supported Vancouver Firefighter Charities. Parq was an official partner of the last year’s Hall of Flame Calendar, which has raised more than a million dollars for an array of BC charities, non-profits and community programs since its debut in 1988.
“The VFC has made us aware of the many difficulties and financial sacrifices that applicants are often forced to make when they pursue this career path,” says newly appointed Parq Vancouver President Jeff Craik.
“It is our sincere hope that this bursary will help bridge any financial gaps that exist and help prospective firefighters better achieve their goal of serving the citizens of our community.”
The deadline to apply for the inaugural bursary is April 1st. To apply, click here.
