Man found dead in Vancouver home, city’s first homicide of 2024

The Vancouver Police Department is investigating the city’s first homicide of 2024 after a man was found deceased in a home in the Kensington-Cedar Cottage neighbourhood.

Officers were called to a home near East 33rd Avenue and Knight Street just after 1am Sunday morning. They located a deceased inside the home.

Police arrested a 39-year-old man at the scene.

The victim’s identity is unknown.



“The file remains under investigation and there is no risk to the public. More information will be provided when available,” said police in a release.
