Sad news holiday fans. The Vancouver Santa Claus Parade has once again been cancelled. This is the fourth straight year the popular holiday event has been called off.
“Over the years, the annual Vancouver Santa Claus Parade has become known as the city’s kickoff event of the Christmas season, so it’s with a great deal of regret that the parade must remain on hiatus until a new sponsor can be found,” reads their website.

Organizers say that event “needs a title sponsor to defray the costs of putting on the parade each year” but up until now, no sponsor has stepped forward.
Prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Vancouver Santa Claus Parade was one of the city’s largest holiday celebrations. Hundreds and thousands of people would line the streets of Vancouver to see Santa and the rest of the festive floats.
“Meanwhile, we hope you’ll keep the holiday spirit alive by supporting the parade’s benefitting partners: the Greater Vancouver Food Bank, and the CKNW Kids’ Fund,” adds event organizers.
