Woman murdered near UBC campus, two individuals arrested by police

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is investigating a suspicious death that occurred near the UBC campus in Vancouver Wednesday evening.



RCMP officers responded to a call of a “female in medical distress” just before 11:45pm inside a residence in the 5400-block of Shortcut Road, in the University Endowment Lands.



The female died from her injuries, said police in a release. Two individuals, a man and a woman, were arrested on scene.

IHIT now has conduct of the investigation and is working closely in partnership with the University Detachment, BC Coroners Service and the Integrated Forensic Identification Section (IFIS).

Investigators are working to identify the victim, whom is believed to be “an adult woman associated to the residence”.



“We are in the early stages of the investigation,” says Sergeant Timothy Pierotti of IHIT. “We are asking anyone with information to please come forward as soon as possible.”
