Travellers heading to the airport are being warned about overnight closures affecting the Dinsmore Bridge starting this month.
In a release, the Vancouver Airport Authority says the Dinsmore Bridge will be closed to all traffic overnight from September 14 through December 31. The closures will be in effect Sunday to Friday from 10pm to 6am.
Traffic will be detoured via the No. 2 Rd. Bridge, which they say is a 6-minute detour.

“YVR is committed to maintaining safe and reliable access to Sea Island and will be making necessary upgrades to the Dinsmore Bridge to ensure the longevity, resilience, and reliability of this critical piece of infrastructure,” reads the release.
“The planned overnight closure and designated detour route will allow essential maintenance to be completed while supporting continued access to Sea Island for airport operations, employees, and the travelling public.”
Outside of the overnight closure hours, the speed limit on the bridge will be reduced to 30 km/h.
